Help & FAQ

Getting started

What does "zero-knowledge" actually mean?

It means we never have your vault key or master password — so we cannot read what you store, even if we wanted to. Your data is encrypted on your device before it syncs. Read the full explainer on our Security page.

How do I import my passwords from another manager?

From your vault, use Import. Upload a CSV file exported from your old manager, or a Little Vaulty spreadsheet (.xlsx). We provide templates and check your file before anything is encrypted and saved. Import is available on all plans, including the free Taster tier.

What are the plans and prices?

Taster (£0) — free, no card needed. It holds 20 vault entries and 3 secure notes on 2 devices at once, with full import. It does not include encrypted export or item history.

Premium (£10 per year) — unlimited entries, notes and devices, encrypted export, and item history.

A plan with several seats for families and teams is planned but is not available yet.

See Pricing for the full comparison, and our Terms of Service for billing details.

Plans & billing

How does Premium billing work?

Premium is £10 per year, billed once a year, and renews automatically until you cancel. Payments are handled by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle takes your payment, handles any VAT that applies, and emails your receipt. The final price is shown at checkout before you pay. We do not store your card details.

How do I cancel?

Use the subscription link in your Paddle receipt email, or contact support and we will help. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Premium until the end of the year you have already paid for.

What happens if I cancel or downgrade?

Cancelling stops future renewal — you will not be charged again for the next period. Your paid features (unlimited entries and notes, encrypted export, and item history) stay available until the end of the billing period you have already paid for. After that date, your account returns to the free Taster tier with its caps.

Downgrading does not delete your vault data. Your entries and notes stay in your vault. Paid features such as encrypted export and item history are no longer available on Taster.

If you have more than 20 vault entries after a downgrade, you can still view and delete them, but adding new entries and editing existing ones are paused until you are back to 20 or fewer — or you upgrade again.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. Ask within 14 days of your first purchase and we refund you in full. Use the link on your Paddle receipt or contact support. See the Refund & Cancellation Policy for the full terms.

Security & recovery

What happens if I forget my master password?

Your vault cannot be recovered. There is no reset link, no support override, and no back door — by design. If you forget your master password, the only option is to burn the account and start fresh; the old vault is permanently destroyed.

Read more on our Security page and in the Terms of Service.

Is my recovery email a way to recover my vault?

No. Your recovery email is contact-on-file only — it helps us reach you for account-related matters and security notifications. It does not decrypt your vault, reset your master password, or restore lost data. Never assume a recovery email works like a traditional password-reset flow — it cannot unlock your vault.

How does 2FA / trusted devices work?

After your master password, you can protect sign-in with TOTP two-factor authentication (an authenticator app). When you complete 2FA, you can choose to trust the current device for 12 hours — during that window you will not be asked for a 2FA code again. After 12 hours, or on a new device, 2FA is required again.

Can I export my vault?

Encrypted export is available on Premium. Export uses a separate export password — distinct from your master password — to encrypt the backup file. The free Taster tier does not include full encrypted export. See Pricing for what each plan includes.

Your data

Where is my data stored?

Your encrypted vault data is stored in the EU — Supabase on AWS eu-west-1 (Ireland). We store ciphertext only; we cannot read vault contents. For sub-processors, retention, and your GDPR rights, see our Privacy Policy.

How do I delete my account?

From vault Settings, you can delete your account. Deletion cascade-erases your account rows and encrypted vault data from our systems. For more on erasure and your rights, see our Privacy Policy.
